A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a mistake. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited bulk emails, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a shared website hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel offers quite a few features, but it is exceptionally intuitive, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes only a single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have set up will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you will only have to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the specific address. Our system will warn you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or pick a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires yet another mouse click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each and every semi-dedicated server package that we offer will allow you to configure a catch-all mailbox easily even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you have to do to achieve that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be on the right side of each mailbox that you have created with your domain names in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will warn you if you’ve already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. If you decide that you don’t need this feature anymore, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
